Primera Estrella is a cultural center located in Pocito, San Juan. It is an independent and alternative meeting point, from which we arrange cultural activities that create bonds of cooperation between musicians, artists and Latin American audiences.

Primera Estrella started in June 2010 as a family project. Our main objective is to contribute to the socio-cultural development of the province of San Juan by making the cultural center available for the presentation of authentic, creative and innovative artistic projects.

Our Values

We believe in independent management and self-determination as key practices in the production of authentic, creative and innovative cultural goods and projects. We value constructive criticism, cooperation, unity, solidarity and commitment as essential values for the creation of bonds between cultural centers, artists and governmental institutions. We are convinced of the need to sustain a developmental education, critical of reality, as well as continuous improvement through new experiences.

Our Goals

• To contribute to the socio-cultural development of the province of San Juan through the creation of a cultural training center that offers artistic courses and workshops arranged by self-managed art workers.
• To actively participate in the re-articulation of social networks between Latin American musicians and independent artists by offering our cultural center for the presentation of cultural products that value artisanal dedication.
• To promote the development of cultural centers with similar profile by signing agreements for cooperation and collaboration with other national, international, public or private institutions that favor the creation of a stable circuit of live music.

Our Work

Primera Estrella is organized in three main strategies: live music, artistic training and cultural management.

Music: With more than one hundred concerts produced, Primera Estrella is part of the national circuit of live music, where local, national and international artists have the possibility to present their cultural productions to the San Juan audience.

Training: Primera Estrella is an artistic training center that offers workshops arranged by art workers, based on creativity and innovation.

Management: Primera Estrella works in cooperation with cultural center of similar profile and with national, international, public and private institutions.
